Roof Repair in Washington Township
Shingles, flashing and fasteners put right, with a straight answer about whether the rest of the roof justifies the work.
When a repair is the honest answer
Plenty of roofs that get replaced did not need to be. If the decking is firm, the shingles still hold their granules and the problem is confined to a slope, a valley or a run of flashing, a repair is cheaper, quicker and perfectly sound. The only way to know which you are looking at is for somebody to get up there, which is the part we do for free.
Common repairs we take on
Slipped, cracked or missing shingles
Wind damage and nail pops along a run, matched as closely as the existing course allows.
Failed flashing
Chimney and sidewall flashing that has lifted, rusted or been sealed over with caulk by somebody in a hurry.
Worn pipe boots
The rubber collar around a vent stack is one of the shortest-lived parts of a roof and one of the most common sources of a ceiling stain.
Valley work
Open and closed valleys that have worn through where two slopes send their water.
Localised deck repair
One bad area of sheathing cut back to the rafters and a new panel let in, with the surrounding courses left undisturbed.
Questions about this work
Will the new shingles match?
Close, rarely perfect. Shingle colours weather and manufacturers change their blends, so a repair on a ten-year-old roof will show slightly for a season or two before it settles in. We will tell you at the inspection how noticeable it is likely to be.
How soon can a repair be scheduled?
Most repairs are booked within a few working days. Where water is actively coming into the house we will get a temporary cover on it sooner than that and do the permanent work when the weather allows.
Have it looked at before it spreads
Small roof problems are cheap. The same problem after a wet winter usually is not.
